RADIO GA GA

Roger's first big hit, so Queen became probably the only band each member is solely credited for at least one #1 single: neither Harrison nor Ringo hit the top, since Something was 'only' a #4 in the UK, and neither Don't Pass Me By nor Octopus were released as singles; the Bee Gees had forty #1's, but Maurice didn't write any alone, albeit he was a co-writer in most cases.

Harmony:

Whenever Roger wrote songs on the piano rather than guitar, he tended to go for flat-side keys (another case is Breakthru). Chords used: F, G, Gm, Abdim7, Bb, C, Dm, Eb (I, V/V, ii, biiidim, IV, V, vi, IV/IV). biii was probably a contribution from Mercury, who reportedly had a lot to do with the song, and whom the chord is much more usual for (Millionaire Waltz, Leroy Brown, Barcelona).
