Queen on stage was a very famous and successful band, although IMO grossly overrated. In any case, some of the main differences between their concerts and their records were: - Instrumentation: Less piano, with exception of White Queen, Need Your Loving Tonight, Crazy Little Thing Called Love and If You Can't Beat Them. - Vocals: Fred sang Modern Times Rock N' Roll, Rock It and '39. Dreamer's Ball had a completely different arrangement on harmonies. - Synthesizers: From 'Hot Space' onwards, some pieces that in the studio had no synths, started to include them live (e.g. Bo Rhap, Great King Rat, It's a Hard Life). |
