QUEEN GEAR IN BRIEF
Queen had an enormous collection of instruments between the four of them. Yet, they favoured certain kinds more than others: - Acoustic Drums: Large, customised kits. - Electric Drums: Whatever was on vogue at the time (Syndrum, Simmons, Octapad). - Bass Guitars: All electric, all four-string, all fretted except for one. Brian had a Danelectro Long-horn but it wasn't used in the studio. - Electric Guitars: Brian had mostly fat-necked, and all four of them enjoyed Telecasters. Then, it depended on each one. - 6-String Acoustic Guitars: Natural finish (mostly), dreadnought sizes, steel strings. - 12-String Acoustic Guitars: Ovation Pacemaker, natural finish, Ricken tuning. - Acoustic Pianos: Black colour mostly, and concert size whenever possible. - Synthesisers: Oberheim's, Roland's, Yamaha's, Fairlight's, Kurzweil's, Korg's and Ensoniq's, mostly. |
